It all started with an extreme love of Star Wars since I was a child... fast-forward to adulthood, and I thought to myself one day how cool owning a lightsaber would be.
After scouring the internet, I found a few places that sold some- but nothing really hit as like "yeah, I gotta have that." Thinking that I had found all there was to find, I turned to YouTube where I fould a very cool video on how to make a Graflex from Home Depot parts. After spending weeks acquiring the necessary tools and materials to pull this off... I'd finally completed it. Though I was happy with what I had created (Istill display this monstrosity with my high end saber collection today), I was still left wanting more.
Soon after I discovered The Custom Saber Shop, their Graflex 2.0 kit that you could purchase (old Parks model) and all of the electronics in one easy place.
Many burnt out boards and curse words later, I was on my way to building actual lightsabers that had sound and function.
In those early days, I had installed roughly 50 Graflex 2.0 kits before I ever touched a different design.
That was around 4 years ago, and I've now been in the saber industry full time for almost 3 years.
Those early days mainly consisted of finding whatever chassis system i could find on Etsy and making the most of it in a build... today I design and print my own chassis, acid etch sabers, I dived into custom designing/making my own designs on a manual lathe and mill, have done roughly 1800 saber installs to date (April 2023 currently), post a demonstration of all of my saber builds to YouTube and I am currently working on my first saber run (Raxus Starkiller) with my good friend, Shaun Patterson of SP Sabers.
I'm also, and have been for roughly 3 years, a member of the Smuggler's Outpost Lightsaber group.
The friends that I have made in this hobby have been some of the best that I have ever had.
